VERS is like VERSE without the E.
VERS sometimes stands for VERSATILE,
which comes from the Latin VERTERE,
which means to turn or to change.
VERS turns toward art that turns on itself.
—toward the weird, the wet, the wretched.
VERS tells it slant. VERS is oblique—both top and bottom.
VERS Lit Mag publishes work across and between genres, forms, and disciplines—but we have a soft spot for poetry, especially when it’s been naughty and misbehaving.
VERS seeks writing and art that is:
devotional, risky, curious, melodramatic,
passive aggressive, emo, horny on main,
but in a sex negative way experimental,
collaborative, in/appropriate.
We want the evil dreams of good people.
We want the wound unwound.
We want your apprehensions and oversharings.
We want you to submit to us, but dominate us too.
